Oops! Your teacher forgot an entire section of the autobiography assignment. Looks like you'll have to use your Google docs know-how to "Copy and Paste" the section into the autobiography document you've already started. After all, you wouldn't want to start all over again when it's so much easier to copy and paste.
Directions:
- To copy text or images, simply highlight the section you want to copy or cut and press "command C" (copy) or "command X" (cut).
- Then, go to the area you want to paste the content into and press "command V" (paste).
- You can also highlight the selection and go to the "Edit" menu and choose cut or copy, then paste.
- IF YOU WANT TO SELECT THE ENTIRE AREA OR SPACE YOU'RE VIEWING, YOU CAN USE "command A" (select all), then "command C" to copy everything you see. This is a great tool for copying or cutting a lot of text or images.
Directions:
- Click the button below and select all of the new education section in my autobiography and paste it into your autobiography.
- Don't forget to format the text once it's in your doc so it isn't highlighted anymore. (Hint: there's a button for that in the menu.)
Day Three:
Directions:
- Click the button below to access more tips & tricks for Google docs.
- Add the "Character" and "Experience" sections to your document using the copy and paste commands you practiced yesterday.
- Follow the directions at the end of the document in order to change the formatting.
- Add an approved editor/commentor to your doc and follow the directions at the bottom of the Tips & Tricks doc.
Day Four: Finishing Up
It's time to start putting the finishing touches on your autobiography assignment. The Grading Rubric is posted below. Please familiarize yourself with it. Please also go back through all the directions from days 1, 2, and 3 to make sure you have not missed anything.
As a reminder, all Ten Tips & Tricks are part of your assignment some how or some way. Look through them to make sure you didn't miss anything important.

Day Five: Are you REALLY done?
A common challenge for MS students is to move beyond mediocrity. It's hard to push yourself beyond just getting the work done. Some students just want to get the work done and hope that it's done on time as well.
I ask more of you. Please re-read your autobiography to make sure you've answered every question completely. That does not mean writing a sentence or two. That means writing paragraphs, where necessary, to explain yourself and communicate "Who you really are" to your audience/readers.
In the end, you will be using this information to make a presentation to the class. The more work you do now, the less work you will need to do later.
